About This Prague Directory

This site gathers the free side of Prague in one place: 39 free walking tours listed across GuruWalk and freetour.com, alongside the squares, gardens, viewpoints and free-entry days that need no ticket at all. Nothing is sold here and no walk is run by the site. Each tour belongs to an independent local guide, and reserving a spot happens on GuruWalk or freetour.com, never anywhere else.

What This Directory Lists

The guide is organised around the walk categories: Old Town And Jewish Quarter Walks, Prague Castle And Malá Strana Walks, Communism And New Town Walks, Legends And Night Walks, and Prague Highlights Walks. Each walk has its own page with its meeting point, its language and its rating. The wider free list sits alongside them: the Prague Castle grounds and courtyards cost nothing after a security check, while St Vitus Cathedral and the other Main circuit buildings are ticketed, and the Museum of Prague main building at Florenc is free every open day.

How The Walk Pages Are Written

A walk page here sticks to what can be stated. Each walk page gives its platform, guide or operator, meeting point, district and language, so no walk is described as covering or visiting a named landmark. What each page gives instead is the platform, GuruWalk or freetour.com, the guide or operator behind it, the meeting point, the district and the language. The route itself, where shown at all, lives on the walk's own page with its guide.

Free To Reserve, Tipped At The End

Free, pay what you want, is the whole price of every walk on this site. A visitor reserves a spot on the walk's page on GuruWalk or freetour.com, turns up at the stated meeting point, and afterwards decides what the walk was worth. GuruWalk's own listing pages show a suggested guideline range per participant, and freetour.com states simply that you pay what you feel the tour was worth. No walk here asks for a required cost.

Behind The Numbers On This Site

Ratings, review counts, durations, meeting points and languages are printed as GuruWalk and freetour.com publish them, each rating with its own scale stated. Facts about free entry come from the operators themselves: hrad.cz for the castle grounds, nm.cz for the National Museum, muzeumprahy.cz for the Museum of Prague, and so on. A conditionally free place always carries its condition in the same sentence, and anything that cannot be settled is left off the page rather than guessed at.

Every Rating Shows Its Own Scale

The two platforms rate on different scales, and this site never converts one into the other. GuruWalk walks are rated out of 5, so the ESSENTIAL Old Town, Jewish Quarter, and Astronomical Clock of Prague walk by A Praga y Vámonos is rated 4.96 out of 5 across 10,283 reviews. freetour.com walks are rated out of 10, so the Old Town and Jewish Quarter Free Tour of Prague by Free Walking Tour Prague is rated 9.6 out of 10 across 2,571 reviews. Every printed rating states its own scale, every time.

Ratings Never Get Converted Or Mixed

Nothing here is averaged, rounded or borrowed. A walk listed on GuruWalk keeps its rating out of 5 across its GuruWalk reviews; a walk listed on freetour.com keeps its rating out of 10, and the two scales stay separate on every card and page. If a walk has no published reviews, the page says so directly instead of filling the gap with a number from somewhere else.

Thirty Nine Walks By Independent Guides

How Each Walk Is Booked

The walks listed here live on two platforms: GuruWalk and freetour.com. A GuruWalk walk rates out of 5; a freetour.com walk rates out of 10, and no rating is converted between the two. Every walk page states which platform carries it, who the guide is, where it meets and which district it belongs to. The reservation itself happens on GuruWalk or freetour.com, on the walk's own page there, never on this site.

How The Facts Are Checked

Free claims on this site stay tied to their conditions. Prague Castle's grounds and courtyards are free, while St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica and Golden Lane sit inside the paid Main circuit. Petřín Hill is free, but its Lookout Tower and funicular are paid. Claims that could not be settled are left off the site entirely.

Reserving Through Links Costs Nothing

None of the walks listed here belong to this site. Each belongs to an independent local guide, and every reservation happens on GuruWalk or freetour.com. When a reader reserves through a link on this site, the platform pays a fee, and the reader pays nothing extra for it. The walk itself stays free, pay what you want: reserve a spot, walk, and tip what the walk was worth.
